Project Reflection
Project Objectives
- Deliver a seamless vehicle rental experience for both web and mobile users.
- Create visually appealing, highly usable UIs for all core flows (search, booking, payment, vehicle management).
- Build an MVP with room for future enhancements—staying focused on what truly matters for launch.
Gathering & Mapping Requirements
From day one, requirements were well-documented by the client. I worked closely with them to map all necessary features and flows, using shared documentation, calls, and several rounds of design reviews. This snapshot below captures one of the many mapping sessions that made sure nothing slipped through the cracks.
My process was always collaborative, but having a well-organized client and clear direction made it easier to focus on UI quality and user delight.
My Design Process
Research
Understanding user needs, competitor landscape, and the technical context. Not every answer is obvious at first, but digging for insights always pays off.
Ideate
Brainstorming flows and generating ideas. Challenging assumptions, sharing, debating, and getting honest feedback.
Design
Translating concepts into clean, scalable, beautiful UI screens. Where all the overthinking, iterations, and late-night tweaks come together.
Prototype
Bringing designs to life for team and stakeholder reviews. Catching issues before they hit development.
Test
Validating solutions with real users, observing, gathering feedback, and continuously refining the experience.

Figma
All screens were designed in Figma, from quick concepts to final UI, supporting rapid iteration and pixel-perfect handoff.
Why: Figma’s speed and collaboration fit our fast-paced project and clear requirements perfectly.
Slack
Slack was our go-to for quick communication, feedback, and sharing design progress with both the client and developers.
Why: It helped us stay in sync and keep momentum.
Flutter
Flutter was used to build the mobile app, ensuring both Android and iOS could launch simultaneously with consistent UI.
Why: One codebase for both platforms, fast iterations, and beautiful UIs.
Next.js
Next.js was used for the web app, providing a modern, snappy, and scalable platform.
Why: SSR and easy routing for a seamless web experience.
Tailwind CSS
Tailwind enabled rapid, consistent styling directly in our components.
Why: Utility classes made our design-to-dev handoff effortless.
Mapbox
Mapbox was integrated for location-based features in the app, including maps and live vehicle tracking.
Why: Customizable, high-performance maps suited for a rental platform.
